Alison first cut her teeth as a Junior staff Copywriter at traditional St Kilda Road agency, Grey Advertising. Working on countless retail catalogues, she quickly learnt the difficult craft of taking three pages of technical specs and condensing them into a five word sentence that both captures the essence of the product AND makes you want to buy it.

This apprenticeship was built on a solid foundation of traditional and industry education; a Bachelor of Arts, followed by the highly competitive AWARD School program.

In her business life Alison has invested heavily in professional development and is a certified Business, Leadership, career and Personal Development Coach, as well as being a member of many high end business mentoring programs. This gives her far-reaching connections to Entreprenuers at the very top of their fields, using the latest tools and technology to optimise business performance.

AWARD SCHOOL

Having been selected as one of only 10 participants from thousands of applications around Australia, Alison graduated from the Australian Writers and Art Directors (AWARD) School. This intensive industry-led program was a three month immersion in the world of advertising, being mentored by the top Creative Directors of the day and working on live briefs to very tight deadlines.

AD TEAM

As part of Award School Alison was selected to participate in Ad Team, a competition bringing together young Copywriters, Art Directors and budding Account Execs to work in teams of three on a live brief. They had 24 hours to come up with a creative campaign, then present and pitch it live to a panel of judges including leading Creative Directors, Account Managers and Agency CEOs. Out of the six presenting teams, Alison’s won.
